Reed Rattan Core

The reed rattan core represents the noble essence of the plant: it is obtained from the drawing process of the inner “heart” of the rattan cane. Unlike the outer layer, the core is extremely flexible, bark-free, and characterized by a natural porosity that makes it ideal not only for structural weaving and complex curves in design, but also for absorbing and diffusing fragrances.

Our industrial bales are made of extra-long strands exceeding 5 meters. This format of reed rattan core by the meter has been specifically designed for the furniture and fashion industries: the length of the fiber allows continuous processing over large surfaces, eliminating the need for aesthetically unappealing joints and increasing the structural strength of the finished product.

Thanks to the particular structure of the internal micro-capillaries typical of first-choice Far Eastern reed, our core offers exceptional capillary absorption capacity. It is the preferred choice for wellness and luxury brands that produce scented sticks and room diffusers, as it ensures a constant, uniform, and long-lasting fragrance diffusion over time.

The reed rattan core is an essential element for securing Vienna straw within the channels of chairs and sofas. Before insertion, it is important to moisten the material: this process activates the fiber’s maximum ductility, allowing the master caner to shape it without risk of breakage.

Once dry, the core slightly expands and becomes rigid, ensuring a perfect and permanent fixation.

Our range is among the most complete on the market, with diameters ranging from 1.00 mm to 20 mm. While the finer gauges are ideal for refined decorative weaving and fashion accessories, the larger diameters are used for load-bearing structures or architectural elements. Each size is carefully selected to ensure a healthy raw material, free from excessive porosity and ready for any custom coloring processes.
